Game Day Snacks

    The most efficient way is to simply run down your Team Roster and assign snack to the player on a rotating game day. When you reach the end of the list, start at the top again. The initial list will not contain playoff dates (when division appropriate) so a secondary snack schedule will need to be developed later in the season if the team makes it to playoffs.  If possible do not include the coach or assistant coach in the rotation as they are contributing a lot of time towards the team, let other parents support.

    If a player’s parent is not able to bring snack on their assigned date, it is the responsibility of that parent to switch with another player’s parent and let you know so that you can update Shutterfly and your roster.  You do not need to hand out a new roster for changes, just be aware of changes so that you remind the correct family or that Shutterfly is updated to remind the correct family prior to the game they are assigned to.  Please stress to the players and parents to pick up their trash and to keep the fields clean.  

    Ensure there are no food allergies on the team.  If there are food allergies, inform parents to avoid products containing the allergens.  As players get older U14 and above, the coach often decides to let the players take care of their own drinks and nutrition items.  There is no need for a snack list at this point.

    Half Time Snack:
        - Sliced Oranges, or other fruit like grapes or apple slices in individual bags
        - Wet wipes for sticky fingers
        - Trash bag to gather the trash and used hand wipes.

    End of Game Snack
        - Cold Drink
        - Snack Item (one item is sufficient, no need to go overboard with unhealthy snacks)
        - (3) Cold waters for the referees (optional)

Practice location and attendance:
      As all of the coaches in AYSO are volunteers, practice times are scheduled at the coaches’ convenience during the week and coordinated with the Region for field availability. Each player must arrange to arrive on time and be picked up on time. No uniforms are to the worn at practice. Shorts are better suited for the game of soccer than long pants. In cold weather, sweatpants are recommended as jeans can restrict motion. Cleats are best suited for most fields and should be worn at practice. It is recommended that each player bring an appropriately sized ball to practice.  The coach will provide team parent with practice information.  It is team parent’s responsibility to relay this information to all of the parents either via email and/or via Shutterfly calendar (be sure to let them know when posted to Shutterfly).

Game schedule:
Games are to be played according to the schedule and will not be canceled due to inclement weather except at the game site shortly before game time. For most divisions games are scheduled on Saturdays. Due to field availability, some games will be scheduled at night during the week.  This generally happens at the beginning of the season.
