AYSO Region 54!

We are now accepting nominations for Regional Commissioner to assume Regional responsibilities on or about September 25, 2025. Although the current RC, Veronica Janecky, is willing to serve for one additional year, we are reaching out to the AYSO Community to see if others have interest.

The AREA 11/E Director & the Region will be holding elections. If you are interested in applying for the position (or any other open position on R54's Board), please email the RC Nominating Committee: Lisa Ramirez at [email protected]
or  Victoria Loau at [email protected]
with your name and preferred contact phone number and email address.

Please reply to the Nominations Committee by 5pm Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the Area 11/E Director @[email protected]

Elections will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 7pm- Location TBD

The process:
1 - You contact the RC Nominating Committee and throw your name in the hat.
2 - The RC Nominating Committee reaches back out to you, makes sure you complete all the requirements to be an AYSO volunteer, and adds your name to the list of candidates.
3 - Region 54's Board conducts a meeting in which all voting members get introduced to the candidates, the candidates get a chance to discuss their candidacy with the full Board, and the Board then votes to select one of the candidates to be the new Regional Commissioner.
4 - The RC-elect's information is forwarded to the Area 11E Director and the Section 11 Director for review and approval, then forwarded to AYSO's National Board of Directors for final approval.

Our 2025 RC Nominating Committee includes the following volunteers:
Lisa Ramirez - CVPA
Victoria Loau - Registrar
Mike Schwichow - Coach Adminstrator
Jamie Lynd - Parent Volunteer

The committee's role is to ensure each candidate meets the minimum qualifications of the position and to forward the names of qualified volunteers to the Region 54 board for a vote.  The committee, or any current board member, can field or direct general questions about what the RC's duties are, and how to become a volunteer Board Member in Region 54.

For those interested, a written description of the Regional Commissioner's job can be found

at https://wiki.ayso.org/wiki/Category:Regional_Commissioner

The job description states nine weekly volunteer hours during seasonal play, but honestly, more time is often required at the beginning of each season (primarily July-August and January-February).

See you on the fields!
